We covered Cali from North to Napa, across to Vegas, circumnavigated Utah, Monument Valley, AZ, continental divide to Fort Collins, then a mad dash back to Ontario via Chicago and Detroit. Car was bought from a member here and my wife and I flew down and rocked it top-down something like 7k miles in two weeks. It ran excellent, did a midnight oil change in the Monterey Walmart parking lot, cut a tire north of Monument Valley on the endless glass beside the road. Limped on the inflate-a-spare to Cortez, CO, where the local tire shop had a complete set of 225/50/16 on the shelf, gave us a smoking deal and installed them in 45minutes. Unbelievable road trip, we found that the tiny vert trunk swallows a ton of stuff, and that running at 4K rpm from Denver to Detroit doesn’t bother a VG30 in the slightest. I converted the car over to a TT and it’s even better now. I never thought I’d buy a vert but I can’t see selling it now.
